Hooves & Hero's 2020 |
Hooves & Hero's have progressed to a competent group of foundation members who have become great advocates for the Arobridge Riding focus and Natural Horsemanship that is taught at Arobridge. Some of our students have moved on to other disciplines where we hope they take the tools learn here to assist them with their future endeavours.

Hooves & Hero's 2017
Hooves & Hero's got off to a very rocky start in 2017 with the floods Tazmin Tempest then 3 or four other floods straight after coming through and taking our facility with it. We had only just started up in february and then floods arrived 7 March...so all in all we didn't start again until the rain stopped in about October 2017. However all the Hero's in our club have continued on with the sterling job of looking after their horses and learning more about how to connect with their horse, keep their focus on what they are doing and riding. We have been over the cavalleti's, weaving through cones, backing up, pushing the giant ball, through the stream and much more. We will resume Hooves and Hero's 19 February through to 26 March 2018...excluding any public & school holidays.
HOOVES & HERO'S - 2 December 2016
Our Hero's have been busy doing all sorts of things....Their folders are looking fantastic with lots of tips and information, pictures and drawings. Well done and thankyou all. Last week we did a bit of rising to the trot, but this week we were walking only singing to Jingle Bells and listening when our horses front right foot strikes the ground. That way we are able to get into the rhythm of our horse a lot easier. Today we have learnt to cross the stream, go up hill- not the really big ones, we are learning how to negotiate the banks on the stream and the smaller hills first, then once we know we can ride this comfortably we will continue to go a bit further each week. A BIG thankyou to Lia, Lorraine and all the helpers, we couldn't do it without you. Have a look at the wonderful photos of our Hero's as they so beautfully giggled their way through the day.
HOOVES & HERO'S - Riding Focused Club - opening day 29 October 2016
Our first day for Hooves & Hero's Ridng Focused Club started 29 October 2016. We spent the morning with registrations, allocating horses and pens, then off down to the honeycomb to see what our horses have to teach us today. It is a grassed area with a larger outer area with smaller areas (rings) inside the larger one. It enables our Members to learn while having many horses moving around the outside ring while the inner ones are able to establish various skills online ( on the ground) and ridden before venturing out to the larger ring. In a relatively small space we are able to set up equipment to practise with. We have found this works well before going out over the farm, allowing our Members to get to know their horse better, look at what they need to learn and practise before going out onto the farm. We intend to ride through the Stream, through the Pines, go up and down hills, while keeping ourselves and our horses calm and confident. There are to be many happy days ahead throughout the summer as we progress. Thankyou to all help offered it is received with thanks.
