10 magical weeks with Gypsy  (Arobridge Therapist) and Tayla.
This video is just a snippet of each one hour Equine Assisted Therapy session showing the wonderful progress from learning to breathe to bringing the horse into a heartfelt connection to enable the teaching and learning to begin in our own unique way of understanding. The exercises undertaken are designed to co ordinate eye- to hand -to leg movement to learn to dance within the rhythm of the horse.
Each session was videoed by Tayla's Mum - Jen, each week, and then broken down into a short video to show the wonderful progress made.
Well done Tayla and Gypsy you are simply amazing.

Our Horses are our Therapists.
Each horse has their own skillset and through their wisdom and knowledge we allow them to work with our Clients in a safe environment, helping people to help themselves through the magic of horses.  Through the horses we focus on self awareness and intuition, good communication and clear boundaries, to show that a relationship with horses can reflect human behavior to create opportunities and solutions.
It can be a journey of self discovery,  while supporting emotional and behavioural issues.

Sarg's role is often but not confined to working to establish boundaries

Communication within a herd is through their own "silent" language and when we take the time to understand communication in this way we often
find ways to recognize and implement this within our own daily lives.
Horses have roles to play within the herd just as we do within families, groups, teams, committees, school classes etc ..... What is your role within your herd?

Dominant, Leader, Sentinel, Nurturer/Companion or Predator

Author and founder of Eponaquest -Linda Kohanov,
"The Five Roles of the Master Herder"
Oscar's role is often but not confined to teaching trust, breathing to calm anxiety.

PictureCherry- approx 15 years- approx 14.2hh. Came to us May 2016
Cherry (Cherokee) was gifted to us in May 2016. She has fitted into our herd well and is often found observing the other horses. She quietly goes about her day without too much bother. She is an expert at quietly setting her own boundaries with the other horses. Cherry can outrun all of the others here and loves to jump.   In healing with the horses Cherry has excelled when working with women, being able to ensure they feel safe in recognizing emotion as valuable information to bring about changes to healing empowerment.

PictureRIP ~Arobridge Louka...Kaimanawa- from 2009 Muster Deceased June 2014 aged approx 8 years
Arobridge Louka was my best buddy....the wildest kaimanawa I have ever received from the Muster. He taught me everything I know now. I trained him myself, and he became the most trusted partner I could ever wish for . He worked directly from the heart, and if you were not working from that space too- he would not do anything at all for you. It quickly taught me how to stand in my truth no matter how I felt.   He wold know if I was sad, glad or mad, happy,  grumpy or feeling tired.  As long as I let him know how I felt before I rode him he was amazing....I think he just wanted to know he hadn't caused my feelings or emotions.  He wasn't with me long and passed away in 2014 just after I finished my Eponaquest Apprenticeship.  The night before my very first workshop he passed away from colic.  Everything he taught me I pass on as his gift to anyone that wants to connect from the heart.  Then I know he lives on through Arobridge and our lovely horses.

PictureGypsy-RIP Gypsy - 16 Jan 2018 aged 16 years From: High Country Horse Adventures- 2007 Noel Stanger
  • RIP Gypsy- 17 January 2018  Feeling safe in your own environment and helping others to recognize the safety in their own environment is also a necessary part of living within a herd, especially if you are the lead mare.
Knowing when to take the lead role and/or step aside, implement boundaries and to allow others to utilize their best skills at the opportune moment is an art that many humans find difficult.  Working alongside and learning from horses in this way helps to clarify and understand the role from a herd point of view or perspective.  Horses often mirror human behavior when working alongside us.
"Ïf the Horse is your mirror- what is he telling us?"

Gypsy's role is often but not confined to teaching you how to be safe within your environment. A role that comes easily to her within the herd.
Our beloved Gypsy passed away on 16 January 2018. aged 16years. She has been part of the Arobridge family for 11 years
